Problem

Producing short videos manually is slow and expensive: you need to generate voiceover, find stock clips, edit, add subtitles, and separately upload the video to TikTok, Reels, and Shorts. ChatGPT and text-based LLMs don't help here: they don't work with audio and video, don't edit, and don't publish. As a result, the content plan sits idle, and a single video takes hours of routine work.

Solution

The product provides eight ready-made n8n workflows, each of which automates a separate stage of the multimedia pipeline. The TTS workflow does voiceover through ElevenLabs, the sourcing workflow downloads stock clips via Pexels/Pixabay, the assembly workflow edits video via FFmpeg and generates SRT through the Whisper API, and the subtitles workflow burns them into the video. Separate workflows publish the result to TikTok, Reels, and Shorts via official APIs, while the orchestrator, on a schedule, pulls texts from Google Sheets or Airtable and launches the entire cycle automatically.

More details

A set of eight n8n workflows that cover the entire short-video pipeline: from text to publication. 01_tts_voiceover.json accepts text via webhook and returns an audio track. 02_stock_video_fetch.json fetches stock clips via API and saves them to disk. 03_video_assembly.json assembles a draft via FFmpeg, runs the audio through Whisper to get an SRT, and saves the subtitles. 04_subtitle_burn.json burns the subtitles into the video and returns the path to the finished file. 05/06/07 publish the result to TikTok, Reels, and Shorts. 08_scheduled_content_pipeline.json is a scheduled orchestrator that sequentially triggers the webhooks of the other workflows and keeps a log in Google Sheets. IMPORTANT about the orchestrator: 08_scheduled_content_pipeline.json calls webhooks at paths that must be manually aligned with the actual paths in workflows 01–07 (tts-voiceover, fetch-stock-video, assemble-video, subtitle-burn, publish-tiktok, publish-reels, publish-shorts) and the field names must be synchronized (audio_url, video_url, etc.). Out of the box, the scheduled pipeline will not work without this fix to the URLs and field mapping — this is expected configuration, not a bug. Also note: workflows 01–07 do not fully match the contracts of the calls in 08 (field names and payload structure). Before running the orchestrator, verify that the inputs/outputs of each workflow match. Workflows 03 and 04 require access to the file system (or S3-compatible storage) on the n8n host, because they work with FFmpeg and binary files via executeCommand, writeBinaryFile, and readBinaryFile.

Features

  • 8 separate n8n workflows: voiceover, stock video, editing, subtitles, publishing to TikTok/Reels/Shorts, scheduled orchestrator
  • TTS voiceover of text via webhook (01_tts_voiceover.json)
  • Selection and downloading of stock clips via API with saving to disk (02_stock_video_fetch.json)
  • Assembling a video draft via FFmpeg and transcribing audio via Whisper with SRT saving (03_video_assembly.json)
  • Burning subtitles into the video via FFmpeg with returning the path to the finished file (04_subtitle_burn.json)
  • Publishing to TikTok, Reels, and Shorts as separate workflows (05/06/07)
  • Scheduled orchestrator with a log in Google Sheets and notifications in Telegram (08_scheduled_content_pipeline.json)
  • Logic branching via IF/Switch, waiting via Wait, merging streams via Merge

Installation guide

1. Install n8n and make sure FFmpeg is available (for workflows 03 and 04). 2. Import the JSON files 01–08 into n8n via the Workflows → Import from File section. 3. Add credentials: ElevenLabs API, Pexels or Pixabay API, OpenAI (for Whisper), TikTok, Facebook Graph API, YouTube Data API, Google Sheets or Airtable. 4. Set up local storage or S3 for audio and video files and specify the paths in the nodes. 5. Test each workflow separately via a Webhook test, then activate 08_scheduled_content_pipeline.json and set the schedule. 6. Prepare a table with the texts in Google Sheets or Airtable following the structure expected by the orchestrator.

Requirements

n8n (self-hosted recommended), FFmpeg on the n8n host, access to the file system or S3-compatible storage for workflows 03 and 04. API keys and accounts: ElevenLabs (TTS), OpenAI (Whisper), Pexels or Pixabay (stock video), TikTok, Facebook Graph API (Reels), YouTube Data API (Shorts), Google Sheets (orchestrator log), Telegram bot (notifications).
