Google is testing purchases on Flipkart right from Gemini and AI Mode 🇮🇳
Google has launched a limited test of agentic purchases through Gemini and AI Mode. It is running in India, and the test partner is Flipkart, which is owned by Walmart. This was reported on September 26, 2026 by TechCrunch.
The mechanics are as follows: the order is placed inside Gemini and AI Mode .🛒 The service guides the user through the Flipkart catalog and takes them all the way to checkout — there is no need to switch to the marketplace app.
For now the test is narrow: only select products and only select users. A broader rollout is planned for the end of October
