Google DeepMind rolled out Gemini 3.8 Live — a new version of the assistant. It differs from the previous Gemini Live by its Live Avatar mode: a "live" avatar 🎭 works in real time right within the dialogue.
The difference in mechanics: regular Gemini Live responds with voice, while Live Avatar adds a visual interlocutor to the conversation who reacts synchronously with speech. The mode is built into the dialogue itself — based on an interactive multimodal assistant.
The release is available right away: there's no waitlist, no queue for access formed.
